Banana Bread
A Banana Bread recipe that is moist, flavorful, and made with pantry staples!
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ⅓ cup melted butter
¾ c sugar (may use less if desired and reduce to ½ cup for less sweet)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Optional add-ins: ½ cup walnuts, chocolate chips
Method:
1. Preheat the Oven:
-- Preheat your oven to 350 (175).
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Banana Mixture:
- Place the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl and use a fork to mash them well.
- Stir in the melted butter.
3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
Beat in sugar, egg and vanilla extract to banana mixture. Mix until well combined.
4. Combine the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
5. Mix the Batter:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring just until combined. Take care not to overwork it as this will cause the bread to become heavy.
If you are adding nuts or chocolate chips, fold in.
6. Bake the Banana Bread:
Pour batte into prepared loaf pan
Pour into mixture into baking dish and bake at 350F for 50-60 minutes or until the center is cooked through a toothpick comes out dry.
7. Cool and Serve:
Cool the banana bread in the pan for around 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
– Slice and serve with butter, or eat plain!
