Knorr Spinach Dip
This is the classic Knorr Spinach Dip recipe perfect for parties or just a tasty snack!
Ingredients:
-- 1 package (1.4 oz) Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well-drained
1 (16 oz) container sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
1 8 oz can water chestnuts, drained and chopped (optional for crunch)
- 3 green onions, chopped
1 round loaf of pumpernickel or sourdough bread, if desired for serving
Method:
1. Prepare the Spinach:
- If the spinach is in a frozen block, simply place it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or use the microwave to thaw.
After thawing, and removing any streaming water by placing the thawed spinach in between sheets of kitchen paper or a clean cloth to be pressed to remove all excess water. This is important, so the dip is not watery in the end.
2. Mix the Ingredients:
To make the sauce, mix sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth in a large bowl.
- Add Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix; stirring until well blended.
~ Stir in spinach, water chestnuts and green onions. Stir well, so the mixture is even.
3. Chill the Dip:
Put the mixture in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap or lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to serve. So this gives the flavors time to marry.
4. Prepare the Bread (optional):
– Using the round loaf of bread, you carve out a hole in the center to create a bowl Rip or slice the middle of the bread into small dippable pieces.
Or, you can also serve it with some crackers/veggies/chips.
5. Serve:
or treat, from bread pieces or dip with the rest. You may also simply spoon the cooled delicious looking spinach dip into the part ready bowl without going through its insides and get it before a careful view of your content.
